How the VMAP for Moms+ Line Works

The VMAP for Moms+ Line offers free mental health consultation and care navigation to Virginia prescribers who provide care to pregnant and postpartum individuals and/or their children. Providers simply call the toll-free number and press 1.

Mental Health Consultation

Free same-day consultation with expert perinatal psychiatrists and perinatal licensed mental health professionals to support with your patient. Consultation occurs within 30 minutes of your request.

Care Navigation

Care navigators will work with the pregnant/postpartum individual and their family to help then connect directly with local mental health resources. You will receive follow-up communication regarding any recommendations.

Calls must be scheduled at least one hour in advance.

Our call center staff will ask:

  • Provider details and callback number

  • Perinatal indivduals details – Name, DOB, insurance, zip code

  • Reason for the call and background information

  • If patient is pregnant or postpartum

Registration also expedites the intake process when you call the VMAP Line and enables you to enroll in provider education opportunities.
